An established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Materials / Finishing Manager to lead a high-performing team within a fast-paced production environment. This is a key role responsible for ensuring operational excellence across materials flow, finishing processes, quality delivery and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capability, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for driving efficiency and business-ready performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate and develop the materials and finishing teams, creating and managing a culture of accountability, safety, and high standards.
- Oversee all materials coordination, finishing operations and workflow planning to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimise processes and reduce waste.
- Ensure rigorous quality checks and adherence to internal standards, delivering consistent, reliable output.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure the function remains efficient, cost-effective and fully fit for business needs.
- Analyse performance data to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and support long-term operational strategy.
- Drive best-in-class standards in housekeeping, compliance and workplace organisation.
- Proven experience in a materials, finishing, or production management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong people-management skills with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or above desirable).
- Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Advantageous will be experience of textiles.
