Job Description
- Reporting into the Finance Director, this is a newly created role, reflecting the increasing complexity of tax matters and the need for technical expertise in-house
- Whilst the Tax Manager role is standalone, there is potential for future team growth, especially if more tax compliance is brought in-house
- The Tax Manager will have the opportunity to shape the tax function, influence systems and processes, and potentially reduce reliance on external advisors
- The role will be broad covering all aspects tax – corporate tax, VAT, payroll taxes, customs and International tax
Key responsibilities will include
- Tax reporting – preparation & submission of tax provisions and forecasts
- Corporate tax compliance – co-ordination and review of tax computations for 20+ UK entities
- Advisory work – support on International tax, customs, corporate structuring
- Legislation monitoring – stay updated on tax law changes and communicate implications to the wider business
- Business Support – involvement in modelling, capital allowances and structuring advice
The Person
- ACA or ACCA qualified and/or CTA qualified
- Will consider individuals who are recently qualified, up to several years experience – culture fit will be key here
- Happy to consider candidates coming straight from private practice and will consider candidates who have trained with mid-tier firms along with Big 4/Top 20
- Candidates coming from the commercial sector will need to have relevant up to date tax exposure
- Curious and analytical mindset with strong communication skills
- Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively
- Technically strong with the desire to grow and modernize processes
