About our clientNigel Wright are partnering with an exciting start-up, a purpose driven business who are making waves in the industry with their fast-growth to date. Our client has ambitious plans, including building a new tech platform as part of their service offering and are looking for a CTO / Tech Lead to join the business on a permanent basis. Location: North-East - hybrid working Salary/package: Flexible based on experience The Role
  • Lead the design and development of our platform from prototype to MVP and beyond.
  • Define the technical architecture and ensure it supports scalability, security, and future forecasting capabilities.
  • Provide hands on support where required as a full-stack engineer in the early stages of development.
  • Collaborate closely with the founder and wider team to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Build and manage a blended team of in-house and outsourced developers.
  • Establish engineering best practices and agile delivery processes.
  • Contribute to the long-term product roadmap and technical strategy.
Who we are looking for
  • Proven experience as a Tech Lead, CTO, or Senior Engineer in a startup or SME environment.
  • Strong full-stack development skills (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, Python, or similar).
  • Experience building SaaS platforms or data-driven products from scratch would be advantageous 
  • A strategic mindset 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environments with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A long-term mindset — someone who wants to grow with the business over the next 3–5 years.
