The Business: Some supply chain roles are about keeping the wheels turning. This one is about resetting the engine. This established UK food manufacturer is entering a critical phase of stabilisation and renewal. With a proud heritage, long-serving teams and high-profile retail customers, the business now needs a senior supply chain leader who can bring clarity, discipline and confidence to a complex, high-volume operation.
As Head of Supply Chain, you will sit on the Site Leadership Team and take full ownership of planning, logistics and end-to-end product flow. Operating in a fast-paced, short shelf-life environment with pronounced seasonal peaks, your impact will be felt every day — in service levels, team capability, customer trust and commercial performance. This is not a turnaround-by-force role. Success will come from credible, visible leadership on site, respecting experience while raising standards, and moving the operation from reactive, manual processes to controlled, repeatable ways of working.
Your role will include:
- Leading planning, scheduling, inbound materials, outbound logistics and 3PL relationships.
- Building robust short-, mid- and long-term planning capability, including S&OP.
- Acting as the senior supply chain voice with major UK retail customers, including weekly operational engagement.
- Developing and leading a capable management team, creating clarity of accountability and confidence through change.
- Playing a broader senior leadership role on site, supporting operational and cultural reset.
What this business offers you:
- A genuine opportunity to shape how supply chain operates over the next 12–24 months.
- A pragmatic, people-centred leadership culture focused on trust, visibility and delivery.
- Scale, complexity and customer exposure that will stretch and strengthen your leadership capability.
