This role provides senior technical leadership, acts as an escalation point for complex issues, and supports the development of engineering best practice across the organisation. You will play a key role in shaping their cloud-first strategy, ensuring their platforms remain secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned to organisational standards. The role also supports their managed service offering, participating in pre-sales technical discussions and overseeing the secure technical onboarding of new partner organisations. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical depth and leadership capability to make a significant impact within a growing, modern infrastructure function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex cloud and infrastructure issues.
  • Lead controlled changes across cloud platforms and on-premise infrastructure in line with security and governance processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of infrastructure standards, operational processes, and platform resilience.
  • Manage technical onboarding for new managed-service customers, ensuring secure, standardised, and compliant environments.
  • Represent the Infrastructure function in pre-sales engagement, showcasing technology approach and platform capability.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to infrastructure and service desk teams.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation, runbooks, and standards.
  • Manage workload independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel between UK and ROI sites when required.

What I'm looking for:

  • Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Security, Azure Solutions Architect (or equivalent commercial experience).
  • Strong experience across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and hybrid identity environments.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and troubleshooting complex LAN, WAN, and cloud-connected networks.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and cost optimisation.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and contribute to team capability uplift.
  • Commercial awareness with a cost-conscious approach to solution design.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, technologies, and business needs.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel when required.

Why Join?

  • Company pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • 25 days annual leave + birthday leave
  • Flexible benefits
  • Option to purchase additional holidays
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies
  • Cycle to work scheme
