The Opportunity: Our client, a long-established and highly successful industrial business based in Middlesbrough, is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their team. Main duties/responsibilities:
- Manage quarterly financial reporting for internal executive and external stakeholders.
- Support year-end financial statement preparation, including accounting adjustments and auditor liaison.
- Prepare statutory financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP, including iXBRL compliance.
- Conduct internal controls reviews and assess their effectiveness.
- Provide accounting solutions and support for corporate finance projects (e.g., refinancing, modelling).
- Assist in the 5-year business planning process, including model maintenance and assumption documentation.
- Handle ad hoc financial assignments as needed.
You will be/have:
- ACA/ACCA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
- Proficient in IFRS and current accounting standards.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on understanding financial data.
- Experience in investment appraisal is preferred.
- Strong communication and IT skills, especially in spreadsheet use.
