Part Time Accounts Assistant Gateshead Hybrid Working 3 or 4 days per week
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a growing business based in Gateshead. This is a key role within a friendly and supportive finance team where you'll have genuine ownership of your work and exposure to all aspects of the transactional finance function.
Offering the flexibility of working either 3 or 4 full days per week and requiring just 1-2 days per week in the office, this role is ideal for someone seeking a better work-life balance without stepping away from a varied and rewarding finance position.
The Role
As the Part Time Accounts Assistant you will be working closely with the wider business, you'll support the day-to-day running of the finance function, taking responsibility across both sales and purchase ledger activities whilst assisting with month-end ledger processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing and maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers
- Managing customer and supplier accounts
- Chasing outstanding payments and supporting credit control activities
- Performing account reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving invoice queries
- Supporting the smooth running of the finance department across a variety of tasks
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and takes pride in producing accurate work.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Bookkeeping role
- Experience across both sales and purchase ledger
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive and positive approach
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
