The Opportunity: Our client, a long-established and highly successful industrial business based in Middlesbrough, is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their team. If you are a hands-on, technically astute, and qualified Accountant seeking a new opportunity within a superb and growing business, this could be the perfect role for you. Main duties/responsibilities:

  • Manage quarterly financial reporting for internal executive and external stakeholders.
  • Support year-end financial statement preparation, including accounting adjustments and auditor liaison.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP, including iXBRL compliance.
  • Conduct internal controls reviews and assess their effectiveness.
  • Provide accounting solutions and support for corporate finance projects (e.g., refinancing, modelling).
  • Assist in the 5-year business planning process, including model maintenance and assumption documentation.
  • Handle ad hoc financial assignments as needed.

You will be/have:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
  • Proficient in IFRS and current accounting standards.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on understanding financial data.
  • Experience in investment appraisal is preferred.
  • Strong communication and IT skills, especially in spreadsheet use.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior management across departments.
