The Opportunity: Our client, a global leader in the FMCG sector, is seeking a part-qualified Management Accountant to join their team, based in North Yorkshire. They are seeking an ambitious and motivated part-qualified candidate to join their team at a pivotal time in the business' growth journey. Main duties/responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with weekly operational KPI reporting and sales reporting.
  • Provide support to factory staff regarding operational variances to assist in improving production efficiency.
  • Prepare journals.
  • Month end overhead analysis and preparation of accruals and prepayments.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of weekly country scorecard.
  • Involvement with on-line banking and payments.
  • Prepare and check information on a monthly basis for inclusion in the VAT returns and for submitting Intrastat returns.
  • Assist in preparation of information for tax computations.
  • Assist in preparation of yearly budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with the control environment / Internal Audit requirements.
  • Provide cover for other team members as necessary.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects and administrative duties for the Finance team.

You will be/have:

  • Strong numerical skills.
  • High level of computer literacy - good excel skills and experience of accounting packages, ERP system experience is preferable, but not necessary.
  • Work well in a team.
  • Proactive with an eye for detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • More than 2 years’ experience in a relevant finance role.
  • FMCG experience is preferable, but not necessary.
