A well-established UK organisation with a large digital presence is seeking an experienced Front End Developer to join its expanding technology team. The company operates a sizeable web estate and delivers high-quality online services to millions of customers nationwide. Their digital function is modern, collaborative, and focused on continuous improvement, using a blend of established and emerging technologies. The team works in a hybrid model, and this role requires being in the Sunderland office five days per week to collaborate with developers, technical leads and product teams.
You will contribute to the development and maintenance of the company’s web platforms, working on end-to-end delivery across a modern front-end ecosystem. Responsibilities include:
- Developing, enhancing and maintaining web applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Working on Design Systems and Web components.
- Improving site performance, accessibility, security, and responsiveness.
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Supporting junior developers and contributing to shared technical knowledge.

We’re looking for someone who combines solid technical skills with strong communication and problem-solving abilities:
- Commercial experience in front-end or full-stack development (2+ years).

- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON integrations, source control and CI/CD pipelines.
You will need to be locally based, Sunderland, as there is an expectation that you'll work full time in the office.
