The Opportunity: Our client, a global leader in the FMCG sector, is seeking a part-qualified Management Accountant to join their team, based in North Yorkshire. They are seeking an ambitious and motivated part-qualified candidate to join their team at a pivotal time in the business' growth journey. Main duties/responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Assist with weekly operational KPI reporting and sales reporting.
- Provide support to factory staff regarding operational variances to assist in improving production efficiency.
- Prepare journals.
- Month end overhead analysis and preparation of accruals and prepayments.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of weekly country scorecard.
- Involvement with on-line banking and payments.
- Prepare and check information on a monthly basis for inclusion in the VAT returns and for submitting Intrastat returns.
- Assist in preparation of information for tax computations.
- Assist in preparation of yearly budgets.
- Ensure compliance with the control environment / Internal Audit requirements.
- Provide cover for other team members as necessary.
- Assist in ad hoc projects and administrative duties for the Finance team.
You will be/have:
- Strong numerical skills.
- High level of computer literacy - good excel skills and experience of accounting packages, ERP system experience is preferable, but not necessary.
- Work well in a team.
- Proactive with an eye for detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- More than 2 years’ experience in a relevant finance role.
- FMCG experience is preferable, but not necessary.
