Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

Our client, a global engineering business undergoing strategic transformation, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its North East operations. This is a critical hire within a lean, high–performing engineering team, supporting R&D and new product development (NPD) initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of electrical control systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and technicians to deliver projects on time.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Produce technical documentation including schematics, FDS, and design reports.
• Provide technical support during FAT/SAT and in–service activities.
• Mentor junior engineers.

About you

Candidate Profile

• Degree–qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems and engineering standards.
• Effective communicator with strong analytical and problem–solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a hands–on, collaborative environment.

Desirable Experience

• Familiarity with commissioning and fault–finding.
• Ability to interpret flow diagrams and use design software tools.
• Exposure to capital equipment design.
