Job Description

The Opportunity

A successful and evolving organisation is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its established finance team during an exciting period of growth, investment and transformation.

This is an opportunity to step into a genuinely broad role where you'll take ownership of management accounts, work closely with senior stakeholders, gain exposure to commercial decision-making, and play a part in ongoing systems and process improvements. If you're looking for more responsibility, greater visibility and a clear opportunity to develop your career, this role offers all three.

The Role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you'll become a key member of a collaborative finance team and take responsibility for delivering accurate and insightful financial information to support business performance.

You'll enjoy a varied role that combines core management accounting responsibilities with wider exposure to stakeholder engagement, forecasting support, process improvement and cross-functional finance activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Managing accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
  • Reviewing financial performance and providing meaningful analysis.
  • Partnering with departmental stakeholders to review costs and budgets.
  • Supporting forecasting, budgeting and cashflow activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.
  • Assisting in the development and mentoring of more junior members of the team.
  • Contributing to finance transformation and systems improvement initiatives.

The Person

We're interested in ambitious finance professionals who enjoy taking ownership and are keen to continue developing their technical and commercial skills.

You could be:

  • Part-qualified, nearly qualified or recently qualified (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • An Assistant Management Accountant looking for the next step.
  • A Management Accountant seeking broader exposure and greater responsibility.
  • Qualified by experience with a strong management accounting background.

You'll bring:

  • Experience supporting or preparing management accounts.
  • Month-end accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership.
  • A desire to learn, develop and contribute to continuous improvement.

Why this role?

This opportunity offers far more than traditional management accounting responsibilities.

  • You'll join a business that is investing in its finance capability, systems and people, giving you the chance to:
  • Broaden your exposure across multiple areas of finance.
  • Work closely with experienced finance leaders.
  • Develop commercial and business-partnering skills.
  • Gain involvement in systems and process improvement projects.
  • Build leadership experience through mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.
  • Join a collaborative team where progression and development are actively encouraged.
