You’ll work directly with a highly experienced and supportive Finance Director who is committed to mentoring and developing the right candidate.
An opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. You will take ownership of end to end financial operations and play a vital role in safeguarding the financial integrity of the organisation. This permanent position sits between the Finance Director and a Finance Assistant and is based at the company’s North West head office, offering flexibility with some hybrid working and limited travel to key stakeholders.
The role would suit a part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), ideally with experience in an owner led environment. With recent in sourcing of finance functions, the position offers wide scope to apply and develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities
In this newly created position, to support the ongoing growth of the business, your key responsibilities will include;
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts with variance analysis
- Complete reconciliations for balance sheet and bank accounts; analyse P&L vs KPIs
- Coordinate budgeting cycles and ensure targets are realistic and data-driven
- Prepare and monitor rolling cash flow forecasts over a 6+ month horizon
- Ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations
- Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements with external advisors
- Liaise with third-party partners including auditors, HMRC, and advisors
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls and documentation
- Manage weekly payment runs including payroll and subcontractor payments
- Provide financial input for tenders and new business proposals
- Assist with various reporting and performance analysis tasks as needed
Key skills preferred
- Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Preparation and analysis of management accounts
- Hands on cash flow forecasting and cash management
- Experience with group accounts and intercompany transactions
- Confident using IT tools and accounting systems
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial environment
