The Server & Cloud Engineer is responsible for building, supporting, maintaining, and optimising on-premise and cloud-based compute, storage, and security platforms. The role operates at a Level 3 capability, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across critical services, while working closely with internal teams and third-party suppliers to deliver reliable, customer-focused IT services in line with ITIL standards.
This will be a FTC role to the end of Jan 2027 and the ideal candidate will be able to come in and hit the ground running. Hybrid working with availability to be onsite when required and more so in the first couple of months.
Essential for the role:- Proven experience managing Microsoft server infrastructure and virtualised environments
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS) and hybrid infrastructure
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, identity and access management
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, email security)
- Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery experience (e.g. VMware, Veeam)
- Solid understanding of networking (WAN/LAN/WLAN), DNS, and security controls
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management within an ITIL framework
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and service artefacts
- Strong troubleshooting skills
