A Private Equity backed Tech business, who are at an exciting point of their journey, are seeking a Commercial Manager to play a key role in driving their growth strategy by optimising business operations.

Purpose of this role: You will play a key role in ensuring commercial success. Working closely with stakeholders across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, you will maximise commercial benefits and cost reduction opportunities across Cost of Sales, Capex and Overheads.

Day-to-day, you will support growth initiatives, manage vendor partnerships, oversee key suppliers, and drive governance and margin optimisation strategies. Key priorities include:

  • Vendor tiering
  • Pricing analysis
  • Commercial negotiation with key vendors
  • Due diligence
  • Market analysis
  • Supporting sales and bid teams (where required) to optimise costs and margins

This is a new role in Finance to help drive the commercial success of the business, but will require strong collaboration across functions.

Main accountabilities:

  • Drive the Commercial strategy whilst supporting all sales and bid activity with a clear financial evaluation.
  • Support the Product and Sales teams to constantly improve and align our proposition to new and existing market trends.
  • Develop and deliver commercial packages that meet our customers' requirements.
  • Constantly monitor and follow changes and opportunities within our industry in order to identify commercial opportunities.
  • Lead, maintain and develop contractual relationships with key vendors and suppliers associated with the Cost of Sale. Requirement to work closely with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Identify and support opportunities to partner with new Cost of Sale vendors and suppliers.
  • Support negotiations concerning all vendor and supplier relationships where applicable.
  • Liaise with the Product and Sales teams to ensure that both new products and enhancements to existing services are launched successfully and effectively, both internally and externally, whilst identifying new areas of revenue opportunities via product enhancement.
  • Support with financial modelling on new product commercials.
  • Monthly review and reporting of commercial performance across the business alongside Financial performance.
  • Support with budgeting and forecasting process from a Revenue / GP perspective.
  • Assist in controlling, monitoring and minimising customer churn & credits.
