The Company:
This is an opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of a complex operation at an important point in its development.

You will have the authority to influence how the function performs, helping colleagues succeed while delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective transport services.
The Role:
As Transport Manager, you will:
- Act as the nominated CPC holder, maintaining continuous and effective control of the transport operation
- Ensure compliance with Operator’s Licence obligations, transport legislation, drivers’ hours and working-time requirements
- Lead, coach and develop drivers and transport colleagues, setting clear and consistent expectations
- Improve fleet utilisation, scheduling, productivity and service performance
- Use operational data and KPIs to identify risks, support decisions and drive measurable improvements
- Manage the transport budget in partnership with operational leadership
- Build effective relationships across the business and with external service providers
- Resolve operational issues calmly, professionally and with a clear focus on practical solutions
- Support the adoption of improved processes, technology and ways of working
The Person:
You will bring:
- A CPC National qualification and full UK driving licence
- Proven experience managing transport operations within a distribution, logistics or supply chain environment
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and Operator’s Licence requirements
- Experience leading drivers and transport planning colleagues through change
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and operational performance
- The confidence to challenge constructively, make evidence-based decisions and establish clear accountability
- A resilient, practical leadership style and the ability to influence at every level
Experience of operational turnaround, cultural change or performance improvement would be particularly valuable.
