Payroll Assistant
Nigel Wright are currently supporting a Newcastle based organisation with their temporary, part time Payroll Assistant requirement. This role will be day per week, or 1 week per month depending on preference.

The Role
As Payroll Assistant, your responsibilities will be:

  • End-to-end processing of a monthly payroll
  • Ensuring payroll is completed accurately and within strict monthly deadlines
  • Managing pension submissions and associated administration
  • Producing payroll reports and payroll-related documentation as required
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll queries
  • Maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation
  • Supporting payroll cut-off, approval and payment processes
  • Potential opportunity to assist with additional finance administration and transactional finance duties where capacity allows

The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Previous experience managing payroll from start to finish
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision or handover
  • Familiarity with pension administration and submissions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator who can work effectively with finance and operational teams
  • Additional transactional finance experience such as purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations or finance administration would be advantageous
