The Opportunity
Nigel Wright is partnering with a growing, purpose-led not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Reporting Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a broad finance leadership opportunity combining financial reporting, management accounting, team leadership, financial controls and continuous improvement. The organisation is going through an exciting period of growth and development, creating an opportunity for someone to make a genuine impact within an evolving finance function.
The Role
Leading an established reporting team, you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely management information while ensuring robust financial processes and controls are maintained.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation of management accounts and internal financial reporting.
- Overseeing month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
- Delivering high-quality management reporting and providing insight into financial performance.
- Managing balance sheet controls, cash, banking and key financial reconciliations.
- Supporting year-end, statutory reporting and audit activity.
- Building strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying and implementing improvements across financial processes and controls.
- Supporting the implementation and development of new finance systems and reporting processes.
The Person
We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with a strong background in management accounting and operational finance alongside proven people-management experience.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Comprehensive month-end and balance sheet experience.
- Proven experience leading and developing a finance team.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial models.
- Strong financial controls and audit experience.
- Excellent stakeholder-management and influencing skills.
- An adaptable and proactive approach, with the ability to provide stability and leadership through periods of change.
Previous experience within a not-for-profit, public sector or similarly complex organisation would be advantageous but is not essential. Experience of finance transformation, systems implementation or process improvement would also be beneficial.
The Benefits
- Circa Β£72,000, depending on experience.
- 12-month fixed-term contract.
- Hybrid working with a minimum of two office days per week.
- Flexible working options, potentially including a compressed nine-day fortnight.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Up to 8% employer pension contribution.
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Wider professional development and wellbeing benefits.
This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for a broad leadership position within a growing not-for-profit environment, with plenty of scope to contribute across reporting, people leadership, controls and finance improvement.
