The Role

You'll lead a well-established fleet operation supported by a dedicated Fleet Assistant, taking responsibility for the full vehicle lifecycle, supplier management, compliance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Day to day duties include

  • Manage a fleet across multiple group businesses.
  • Ensure all vehicles remain compliant, roadworthy, insured and managed in accordance with legislation and company policies.
  • Lead vehicle procurement, leasing, supplier management and contract performance reviews.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, utilisation and replacement programmes.
  • Maintain fleet compliance records including MOTs, road tax, driver checks and risk assessments.
  • Support audit activity and maintain compliance standards including FORS accreditation.
  • Manage telematics, fuel cards, vehicle usage monitoring and associated reporting.
  • Investigate incidents, collisions and vehicle-related compliance issues.
  • Produce management information, KPI reports, trend analysis and environmental reporting.
  • Review and improve policies, procedures and fleet management processes.

The successful candidate will be/ have

  • Experience managing vehicle fleets, vehicle assets or transport-related operations.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience working with compliance, audits, policies or regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent reporting and analytical capability with confidence interpreting data and identifying trends.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of a business.
  • A proactive and solutions focused approach.
  • Experience mentoring, supervising or managing team members.
  • Confidence investigating issues, challenging information and making informed decisions.
