Accounts Payable Assistant - Newcastle - Hybrid Working
Nigel Wright is delighted to be supporting a growing organisation as they look to appoint an Accounts Payable Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small finance function where you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day accounts payable activities whilst working closely with colleagues across the wider business.
The Role
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate supplier records, processing invoices and supporting payment activities across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Investigating and resolving supplier queries and discrepancies
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Processing employee expense claims
- Raising and administering purchase orders
- Supporting payment runs and remittance advice processes
- Assisting with month-end activities and audit requirements
- Maintaining finance records and supporting continuous process improvements
About You
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within Accounts Payable or a Finance Assistant role
- Good understanding of purchase-to-pay processes
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of your workload
