We're working with a leading wealth management firm who are looking to appoint a Regional Director to lead their financial planning operation in the Midlands and Northwest region. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on sales management and coaching. The firm has been established for over 250 years and is one of the UK's largest wealth managers, offering discretionary investment management and financial advice to private clients, charities, trustees and professional partners. They have a strong presence across the UK with a reputation for quality and service excellence.

You’ll be responsible for driving regional growth, leading adviser performance and expanding market presence. This is a commercial role where you’ll be developing and executing regional strategy, building sales pipelines, and managing relationships with key introducers including accountants, solicitors and professional networks. You’ll be leading and coaching a team of Financial Planners and business development professionals, setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews and providing structured coaching to drive productivity. Part of your remit will be recruiting and developing talent to support the regional expansion plans.

There’s a strong focus on stakeholder management - you’ll be representing the business at industry events, building relationships with professional introducers, and working closely with internal teams across compliance, operations, marketing and investments. You’ll have accountability for forecasting, reporting and oversight of regional performance metrics, using CRM insights and sales data to drive decision-making. The role requires a strong understanding of profitability drivers, adviser charging structures and commercial performance, all delivered within FCA regulations and Consumer Duty expectations.

Requirements

You’ll have proven experience delivering business development growth in financial planning or wealth management, with strong leadership skills and a track record of coaching and managing Financial Planners. You’ll understand the UK financial planning market inside out - pensions, investments, protection, tax-efficient solutions - and you’ll know the advice process end to end. You’ll need excellent relationship-building and influencing skills across all levels, strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen, and you’ll be comfortable using CRM systems and data to drive performance. Strong communication, presentation and networking skills are essential, as is a solid understanding of FCA regulatory requirements including Consumer Duty. This is an FCA Certified role (Manager of Certification Employee) so you’ll need the relevant professional qualifications (DipFS minimum if not Chartered FP).

If you’re an experienced commercially minded leader within the Financial Planning/Wealth industry who can drive growth whilst maintaining the highest standards of client service and regulatory compliance, we’d like to hear from you.

Why join?

The role is awarding a £six figure basic salary and bonus in line with yours and your teams’ performance. Full company benefits will be provided including pension, DIS, PMI, Critical Illness and holiday. This is a fantastic time to join a company who have realigned their strategy focusing on an advice led proposition and growing. They have invested heavily into growth expanding their various distribution channels and now looking for the right people to be part of this continued journey. It’s a great opportunity to lead a team of Financial Planners for a leading company within the industry helping to shape the business through this exciting chapter.
