We are working exclusively with a well-established, independent Chartered financial planning business to secure an experienced Senior Financial Planner to join their team, splitting time across their Poole and Salisbury offices. The role will be taking over an existing client portfolio based in the local area, predominantly professional partnerships of the businesses, alongside the opportunity to continue growing the book organically. The role follows a hybrid working pattern.

You will manage a portfolio of high-value and complex clients, delivering tailored, proactive holistic advice across tax planning, retirement strategies, investment management, and estate planning. You will work closely with paraplanners and client executives to ensure efficient case management and will be expected to identify and pursue new business opportunities through referral, networking and professional partnerships. In addition, you will be responsible for mentoring and supporting more junior planners within the team.

Requirements

  • Level 4 DipFS qualified
  • Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent) or above; Chartered status is desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance, with a strong track record delivering regulated advice to high-value clients
  • Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, client-first approach, with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex tax, retirement and estate planning challenges
  • Proven networking and business development skills, with a track record of building both internal and external relationships
  • Confident using financial planning software (e.g. CashCalc or similar) and CRM systems (e.g. Intelliflo or similar), along with core MS Office applications
  • Comfortable managing and developing an inherited client portfolio, providing continuity and building strong long-term relationships
  • Based within a commutable distance of the Poole/Salisbury area, or willing to relocate
