Are you a commercially driven senior leader with deep roots in financial planning and the credibility to lead a self-employed adviser business at scale? My client is one of the UK's most successful privately owned wealth management groups, and they are looking for an exceptional Managing Director to take ownership of their self-employed distribution channel.
This is a significant, SMF3-level executive appointment for someone who understands the unique dynamics of self-employed adviser models and who can build trust with entrepreneurial people whilst ensuring the business operates to the very highest standards.
The role:
- Own the strategy, commercial performance and day-to-day leadership of a self-employed financial planning business operating within a larger, fast-growing wealth management group.
- Build and maintain a culture where self-employed advisers feel genuinely supported and motivated, without compromising on governance, advice quality, or regulatory standards.
- Work as part of a senior distribution leadership team, ensuring your channel is joined up with the broader business and that clients are always served through the right model for their needs.
- Take responsibility for FCA compliance, Consumer Duty, Training & Competency, and advice quality across the business.
- Develop and retain a strong leadership team around you, and be the kind of leader people want to follow.
What we're looking for:
- Significant senior leadership experience within financial planning or wealth management at an executive level.
- Someone who genuinely understands self-employed adviser models and knows how to get the best out of entrepreneurial people.
- A strong grasp of the FCA regulatory environment and what good governance looks like in practice.
- Chartered Financial Planner status or equivalent would be ideal but not essential, must however be DipFS qualified.
- Commercial sharpness, sound judgement and the personal presence to operate confidently at board level.
What's on offer:
- A highly competitive senior executive package reflective of the seniority of the role.
- Real autonomy to shape and grow a significant business within a supportive and ambitious group.
- An award-winning culture with a genuine commitment to doing the right thing for clients and colleagues alike.
If you are a confident, credible leader who wants to make a real mark in a business that is genuinely going places, please get in touch.
