We are working with a modern, forward‐thinking organisation building a high‐performing data function. They operate like a private‐sector tech team, with minimal red tape, quick decision‐making, and real autonomy.

As Senior Data Engineer, you will work across the full Azure data ecosystem, delivering clean, reliable data for analytics and BI while engaging directly with stakeholders across the organisation. This is a customer‐facing role.

You will also mentor junior engineers, support planning and contribute to continuous improvement within a fast‐evolving data team.

Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and optimise Azure‐based data pipelines
  • Develop ETL/ELT workflows into the silver layer powering BI
  • Work with ADF (critical), SQL, Azure Blob Storage, Power BI, Git & Azure DevOps
  • Engage, challenge and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Own and lead weekly project check‐ins
  • Mentor two junior data engineers (peer reviews, planning, work allocation, Scrum)
  • Shape future architectural decisions and contribute to continuous delivery improvements
  • Support the transition toward next‐gen tooling (Fabric, AWS, Snowflake under evaluation)

  • Ability to mentor and support junior engineers
