Contract Databricks Data Engineer Role - Remote - £400/pd
Please note - this is an Outside IR35 contract role which will require occasional visits to offices in the South of England.
To be eligible for this role you must be based in the UK with the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
We're partnering with a well-established financial services organisation that is seeking an experienced Databricks Data Engineer to join their growing data team on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a predominantly remote role, with occasional visits to the client's offices in the South of England.
Candidates should be available to attend the office on their first day and subsequently as required for key meetings and collaboration sessions.
The Role
Working within a highly collaborative data environment, you'll play a key role in supporting the organisation's Decision Science Team, ensuring they have access to high-quality, reliable data to drive business outcomes.
The position combines hands-on engineering, stakeholder engagement, and technical oversight responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both delivering solutions and guiding development best practices.
Key responsibilities will include
- Delivering new data provisioning requests for the Decision Science team
- Supporting and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
- Developing, maintaining and enhancing data pipelines within Databricks
- Performing code reviews and promoting engineering best practices
- Troubleshooting data-related issues and implementing improvements
- Collaborating with data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders
- Providing technical oversight and guidance to developers within the team
- Ensuring data quality, performance and governance standards are maintained
