Nigel Frank is working exclusively with a well-established Microsoft MSP based in Basildon, Essex, to recruit a Senior Project Engineer to join their expanding Major Projects team. This is a delivery-focused position centred on leading and executing Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud transformation projects for a diverse SME client base across Essex, Kent and London (including multi-site and franchise organisations).

If you enjoy taking ownership of end-to-end cloud and infrastructure projects rather than focusing purely on support, this role offers strong technical influence and project leadership responsibility.

The Role

You will take the lead on delivering cloud and infrastructure projects, with particular focus on:

  • Core Cloud Focus (Primary Requirement)
  • Microsoft 365 administration and solution architecture
  • Microsoft Azure design, deployment and ongoing administration
  • Azure and M365 migrations (tenant-to-tenant, hybrid and full cloud transformations)
  • SharePoint Online and cloud security solutions
  • Hybrid infrastructure design and implementation

Supporting Infrastructure Experience

  • Networking (firewalls, switches, connectivity)
  • Windows Server (on-premises and hybrid environments)
  • Virtualisation platforms (e.g. Hyper-V / VMware)
  • Storage and core infrastructure technologies
  • Strong 3rd line troubleshooting and escalation capability

You will also operate as a senior technical escalation point, contribute to solution design, and support pre-sales activities where required.

Working Model

Hybrid role – typically 2 days per week in the Basildon office on average. Some weeks may include client site visits.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong Microsoft 365 and Azure project delivery experience
  • Proven track record of delivering cloud migration projects
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (regular client travel required)
  • Able to commute to Basildon
