Automation Engineer - Power Platform & AI in Bicester

Bicester Full-Time No working from home possible
N

Salary: Up to £65,000

Nigel Frank is working with a growing UK organisation to recruit an Automation Engineer for its established Data & Innovation function.

This is a hands-on position focused on designing and delivering business process automation using Microsoft Power Platform, while also supporting the organisation’s growing use of Copilot, AI-enabled workflows and monday.com.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand inefficient processes, identify automation opportunities and translate requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions. You’ll take ownership from initial discovery and design through to development, deployment, documentation and ongoing support.

The role is based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, with an expectation of working from the office approximately two days per week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, develop and maintain automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Build complex cloud flows and business process automations with Power Automate.

  • Develop applications using Power Apps, including Canvas and potentially Model-Driven applications.

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

  • Integrate Power Platform, Microsoft 365, monday.com and other business systems using APIs, webhooks, connectors and related technologies.

  • Design and support AI-enabled solutions using Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot, prompt-based automation and other emerging AI technologies.

  • Apply practical AI techniques including prompt design, agent configuration, knowledge grounding, testing, monitoring and human oversight.

  • Configure and support monday.com workflows, automations, forms, dashboards, workspaces and integrations.

  • Monitor, maintain and improve existing solutions to ensure reliability, security, scalability and performance.

  • Support platform governance, access management, environment standards, Data Loss Prevention and responsible AI practices.

  • Produce clear technical documentation, reusable solution patterns and best-practice guidance.

  • Support user adoption through stakeholder engagement, training and ongoing improvement.

  • Collaborate with the existing Automation Engineer and wider teams across technology, data, innovation and business operations.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on Power Automate experience, including complex cloud flows.

  • Experience developing solutions using Power Apps, ideally Canvas and/or Model-Driven applications.

  • Experience integrating systems using APIs, webhooks, connectors, custom connectors or similar technologies.

  • The ability to gather requirements and work confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience taking ownership of solutions from discovery and design through to delivery and support.

  • An understanding of Power Platform governance, security, deployment and maintainability.

  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and an interest in developing deeper AI and Copilot expertise.

  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

  • The ability to work from the Bicester office approximately two days per week.

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial, but you are not expected to cover every area:

  • Copilot Studio or Microsoft 365 Copilot

  • Dataverse

  • Power Pages

  • monday.com configuration, automation or API integrations

  • REST APIs, JSON and custom connectors

  • Power Platform ALM, solutions and Azure DevOps

  • Power Platform environment administration and DLP policies

Previous monday.com experience would be valuable but is not essential. You should, however, be comfortable learning the platform and contributing to automation and integration across its project, team and resource-management capabilities.

You do not need to be an established machine-learning or AI Engineer. The organisation is looking for a strong Power Platform or Automation professional who understands how technology can solve practical business problems and is keen to develop further across Copilot, AI agents and intelligent automation.

Package

  • Salary of up to £65,000

  • Performance-related annual bonus

  • Hybrid working with approximately two days per week in Bicester

  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays and your birthday

  • Employer pension contribution

  • Life assurance

  • Training and professional development

  • Additional wellbeing and lifestyle benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for an Automation Engineer who wants to take ownership of meaningful Power Platform projects while developing deeper expertise across Copilot, AI-enabled automation and monday.com.
