An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join our growing friendly team at Niftylift. The role is based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hoyland, Barnsley. The Team Leader is responsible for the control of a production area, within the overall production function team. They will use their knowledge / previous experience in managing CNC's, Robots and team members to successfully lead their teams. Provide leadership to the team and drive targets to meet output KPI's.
Responsibilities and Duties- Efficient organisation and control of staff.
- Regular and structured communication with teams, through daily team shift start-up meetings and Stakeholder Meeting held and chaired to set agenda.
- Guidance and support to achieve full flexibility, balancing and achievement to standards.
- Compliance with health and safety standards.
- Risk assessments, COSHH Assessments, Manual Handling Assessments, Safety Barometers.
- Ensuring ISO 9001 procedures are complied with, including in process inspection sheets, auditing and controlling line quality, control of internal / external quality notes, and the implementation of preventative actions.
- Maintaining accurate information on the companies manufacturing systems (i.e. engineering masters / works orders etc).
- Control attainment to build plan delivery requirements, through liaison with Production Administrator and Section Managers.
- Hands on maintenance to balance the flow line, and minimise line stoppages, including absence cover.
- Flexibility to ensure targets are met.
- Continuous improvement, through Kaizen.
- Actual times to be achieved and beaten through the implementation of lean manufacturing, including removal of all non-value-added operations (7 Wastes).
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and organisation (5s).
- Measuring and managing performance in accidents/incidents, internal quality defects, cell productivity/utilisation, takt analysis, overall stock accuracy and WIP (flow line adherence).
- Ensuring all related company procedures are audited and complied with.
- Owning the area in its entirety and escalating where and when required.
- Computer literate in Microsoft office and manufacturing software systems.
- Proven ability to manage a multi skilled team.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in capacity planning and scheduling work load requirements.
- Basic technical / inspection knowledge on the above disciplines.
- Experience of operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment.
- Able to develop continuous improvement in all aspects of the people, facility, processes and products.
- Ability to work to high commercial quality standards.
Shifts of Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:30 & Friday 07:30-13:30 (40 hours per week). Guaranteed basic starting salary £16.70 x 40 hours per week plus guaranteed minimum £45 per week bonus - £37,076.00 per annum plus structured overtime paid at premium rates outlined below:
- Level A - Overtime paid at premium rate of £25.05 per hour (i.e. x 1.5).
- Level B - Overtime paid at premium rate of £33.40 per hour (i.e. x 2.0).
Plus additional monthly bonus aligned to business performance that equates to total bonus payments of £280 - £350 per month on average (for reference only).
