We’re looking for a General Operative to join our friendly team at Niftylift. The role is based at our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Hoyland, Barnsley.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work within a dedicated team responsible for operating machinery used in the manufacture of steel components.
- Manual reaming of finished products.
- Operate a radial arm drill.
- Pre‑clean and post‑clean products.
- Assemble painted chassis.
- Provide support to the fabrication/welding team as required.
Working Hours:
Standard hours: 07:30‑16:30 Monday‑Thursday and 07:30‑13:30 Friday (regular overtime available). Optional rotating day shift: 06:00‑14:00 / 14:00‑22:00 Monday‑Thursday and 06:00‑11:30 / 11:30‑17:00 Friday. Shift bonus of 1.15× for both shifts.
Salary & Benefits:
OTE: £28,152.00 – £30,992.00 per year (including guaranteed basic starting salary £28,152.00 per annum, guaranteed minimum £45 per week bonus, and overtime). Overtime rates: Level A £18.62 per hour (1.5×), Level B £24.82 per hour (2×). Monthly business‑performance bonus averages £280‑£350. Annual bonus (average £500 per annum). 25 days holiday (increases with service, up to 30 days) plus bank holidays. Retail discounts. Free on‑site parking. Subsidised refreshments. Health cover scheme (dental, optical, etc.; extra membership available for partners, kid membership free). 5% contributory pension. Life insurance scheme.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
