The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the Fleet and Plant Officer will be responsible for the effective management, compliance, and operational readiness of the organisation’s fleet and plant across Radius Housing Association and associated companies (i.e. Radius Direct). This includes vans, employee vehicles used for business mileage, and associated driver compliance. The role will ensure that vehicles are safe, cost effective, legally compliant, and allocated appropriately to support operational delivery.
To be shortlisted candidates need to provide evidence of the following as a minimum:
- A qualification (Level 5 or above), or equivalent, in either Fleet Management, H&S or other relevant qualification.
- At least 2 years’ demonstrable experience in a Fleet or Plant Officer role OR at least 4 years’ demonstrable experience (in last 8 years) across: Fleet management, transport coordination, logistics, or a similar operational role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vehicle, plant or tool compliance, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Experience working with external suppliers such as leasing companies, garages, and insurers.
- Experience managing driver documentation, plant register, licence checks, or compliance processes.
- Strong administrative and record keeping skills.
Demonstrable experience to include the following:
- Knowledge of UK/Northern Ireland vehicle legislation, insurance requirements, and driver compliance standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to analyse data and produce clear reports.
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with staff at all levels.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and fleet management systems (or willingness to learn).
Experience of identifying and delivering service delivery improvements.
Excellent level of IT literacy with demonstrable knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft Office packages, including the ability to produce management reports.
A current full driving licence and access to a suitable form of transport. (Where an applicant indicates that a disability prohibits them from driving, this criterion will be waived at the shortlisting stage. In such circumstances, consideration will be given in any subsequent offer of appointment to suitable alternative arrangements that the candidate may be able to put in place that would enable them to meet the travel requirements for the post).
