The Communities Officer will provide support and advocacy for communities, based on their specific needs, maximising their potential for growth in a shared and inclusive manner, and act as a representative for the Association.

The role is a fixed term, lasting 2 years, and is suitable for hybrid / smart working. Radius Housing provides quality and affordable social housing in over 80 towns and cities throughout Northern Ireland, offering a range of services including sheltered housing for the over 55’s, general needs housing for families and single people, and specialist care for frail, elderly, dementia and learning disability patients.
Qualifications
- Either a level six qualification (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree, Graduate Diploma) or higher in a relevant discipline with 2 years’ experience working in community development, OR 5 years of recent experience in community development or a housing setting.
- Experience in monitoring, managing and reporting on budgets in accordance with policies, procedures and external funding requirements.
- Experience of supporting communities to deliver community plans and/or events.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrable knowledge of best practice in community development and empowerment.
- A current full driving licence and access to suitable transport. (If a disability prevents driving, this criterion is waived at shortlisting and alternative arrangements may be considered.)
