We are a Housing Association in North Belfast providing affordable quality housing to those in need. We have recently expanded our operations in Belfast to over 1200 properties and we currently employ 50 staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the condition of properties within the association’s portfolio. This includes performing surveys, compiling detailed reports on the condition of the properties, and providing recommendations for maintenance, repair, or replacement. The aim is to ensure the properties meet required standards and to inform future investment and maintenance strategies. This is a full-time permanent post working 37 hours per week.
Essential Qualifications- 3rd level education in Building Surveying or a similar discipline
- Minimum of 1 year's demonstrable working experience, preferably undertaking stock condition surveys in a social housing setting
- Proficiency in using asset management systems and surveying software
- Strong knowledge of building construction, maintenance standards, current planning and building regulations and keeping up to date with new developments
- Excellent report writing skills and the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive approach to keeping up to date with developments in the sector with regards to asset management and investment works
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot potential issues and make accurate condition assessments
- Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying solutions to maintenance and compliance issues
- Organisational Skills: Able to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple inspections and reporting tasks
- Customer Focus: Sensitive to tenant needs and able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of residents
