Now entering its second decade, Nielsen Racing embarks on an exciting new chapter. With a rich history of worldwide success in LMP3 and LMP2 ProAm, this new era marks a significant investment in our future, bringing fresh talent and bolstering our team’s ambitions for long-term growth.
We are also wanting to invest in our people; therefore we are looking for an LMP2 Race Engineer who can work within our team, giving us a competitive advantage and who is able to successfully deliver a race winning performance.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To lead and organise the running of one of our Oreca LMP2 cars.
- Organise all operational aspects of running a car including creating pre-event documents, managing job lists, preparing the run plans.
- Together with the systems / performance engineer determine and implement the best race strategy.
- Complete detailed post event analysis of chassis, driver performance and race strategy.
- Communicate well with all members of the team.
- Lead engineering briefings with drivers and the crew.
- Work with the team’s sister Race Engineer and the Technical Director to maximise team efficiency and output.
Experience / requirements:
- A proven track record in an endurance championship such as WEC, ELMS, IMSA.
- A Masters / Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- A good understanding of vehicle dynamics.
- Must have strong communication and organisation skills.
- Ideally based in the UK. Applications from Europe will be considered.
