NIE Networks is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Network Development team as a Network Innovation Engineer, working at the forefront of how electricity networks are planned, operated and evolved. The energy system is undergoing unprecedented change. We are transitioning from a traditionally carbon-intensive electricity system to a low-carbon, more dynamic and decentralised system, with rapid growth in renewable generation, electrified heat and transport, and new demands on the distribution network. At the same time, customers are becoming more active participants, with the emergence of flexibility services and local energy markets.
As a Networks Innovation Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of innovation and Distribution System Operator (DSO) projects ranging from small-scale proof-of-concept trials to large-scale demonstrators.
