We are looking for a Night Concierge to join us here at Nido Leeds. The purpose of this role is to ensure that there is a consistently high level of service provided to residents, guests and the building overall, during the busiest periods of the week, whilst also upholding the high levels of customer service achieved by all Nido employees.

General duties will include:

  • Monitoring guests and users who access the building and use of common spaces within the building by carrying out patrols and monitoring live CCTV.
  • Reacting to emergency reports from residents and users of the site.
  • Dealing with anti-social behaviour effectively.
  • Monitoring the perimeter and external areas of the property.
  • Carrying out maintenance tasks within your skill set.

Due to the high level of international residents staying with us, part of this role will be to use your knowledge of the city and local area to provide general assistance to residents.

Requirements:

  • Working as part of the team and ensuring that information regarding residents and the residence are shared amongst all members of the team.
  • Acting as Front of House during the night by welcoming guests, and signing out any parcels received and any shared items that are available for residents to borrow.
  • Assisting with any general resident enquiries regarding the building or local area.
  • Responding to any calls received from residents via the emergency phone.
  • Logging any calls received on the general office phone for the management team.
  • Completing an end of shift report for the management team regarding any activities throughout the night that require follow-up.
  • Carrying out regular patrols of the residence.
  • Ensuring resident policies and procedures are followed.
  • Monitoring residents’ and guests’ arrival and departure from the site.
  • Ensuring that the health and safety of all users of the building is upheld.
  • Providing emergency first aid assistance where required.
  • Reporting any illegal activities to the police.
  • Responding to active fire alarms on site to establish whether it is a false alarm and begin emergency evacuation procedures if there is a genuine fire.
  • Monitoring CCTV and downloading any footage that is necessary for further action to be taken by the management team.
  • Carrying out low level maintenance and escalating if support is required.
  • Monitoring the Building Management System throughout the shift to ensure that there is a constant supply of heating and hot water to all residents, reporting to the maintenance team immediately if there is a fault and arranging an emergency call-out.

Person Specification:

  • Experience working in a reception / front of house corporate environment including site patrols and access control.
  • Previous experience of using communication equipment.
  • Conflict management experience.
  • High level of customer care awareness and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Exceptionally clear communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable with excellent time-management skills.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Good handyman skills.
  • Able to work a variable shift pattern.
  • First Aid training and/or IT literacy would be desirable.
