Role Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as a HR Generalist. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring & onboarding to employees’ rights and entitlements. The HR Generalist role will be far from one-dimensional; the HR Generalist will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, with the main goal of ensuring the HR department’s operations run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value, advice, and professionalism to the company. This role will support both UK and European sites.
Key Job Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the HR Generalist consist of but are not limited to:
- Action various HR queries throughout the business, including reviews, working requests & disciplinaries
- Monitor, review, and update all HR policies and processes and ensure these are in line with current legislation
- Inform employees of their rights and entitlement and keep them up to date on any changes made
- Support the recruitment process by attending interviews for potential candidates and assist in managing the recruitment process
- Manage staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations
- Handle HR matters reliably and in accordance with legal requirements
- Deal with various capability investigations, including grievance and discipline
- Partnering with line managers to review employee relations, performance management, resource, and staff management
- Ensure the payroll file documents are ready with the required signatures to meet payroll deadlines
- Undertake projects which will support the effectiveness of HR
Travel Requirements: Role based in Newtown, split over both sites (The Gro and U79) on a full-time basis. Occasional travel to other sites when required.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of current Employment Law
- Efficient HR administration & people management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and related HR software
- Ability to handle workloads in a busy environment
- To be able to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility and ability to work off own initiative
- CIPD Qualified
- Proven experience in an administration environment
- Experience using Workday (system)
- Adaptability skills
- Advising and working with senior members of staff
- Personable with strong communication and relationship-building capabilities across all levels of the business
- Driven and determined
- Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly
Employees must be able to:
- Understand emergency instruction
- Read safety signage and hazard warnings
- Communicate effectively in specific situations (e.g. fire evacuation)
