The Store & Fleet Co-ordinator is responsible for the effective management of company stores, materials, tools, plant, and fleet vehicles. The role ensures that operatives have the right materials and equipment at the right time, while maintaining full compliance, accurate stock levels, and a safe, well-organised working environment. The postholder also oversees fleet maintenance, servicing schedules, and vehicle allocation to support operational delivery.
Working alongside our maintenance operatives and management team of supervisors, contract managers, and buyers, this is an exciting new role for the right person to control stock in operatives' vehicles and stores and also help maintain vehicle requirements for the growing workforce.
- Stock Control: Maintain accurate stock levels, carry out weekly/monthly counts, and investigate discrepancies.
- Material Ordering: Order materials, consumables, and tools in line with operational needs and budget controls.
- Goods In/Out: Receive deliveries, check accuracy, and ensure items are stored safely and labelled correctly.
- Tool & Plant Tracking: Issue, record, and monitor tools/plant to operatives; ensure timely returns and report missing items.
- Storehouse Organisation: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient stores layout with clear signage and segregation of materials.
- Vehicle Servicing & Compliance: Schedule MOTs, services, inspections, and repairs; maintain full compliance records.
- Vehicle Allocation: Manage vehicle assignments, swaps, and returns; ensure operatives have suitable vehicles for their work.
- Damage & Incident Reporting: Log incidents, arrange repairs, and liaise with insurance/management as required.
- Fuel & Mileage Monitoring: Track fuel usage, mileage, and driver behaviour to support cost control.
- Fleet Documentation: Keep accurate records of tax, insurance, servicing, and compliance certificates.
Skills:
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Good communication with operatives, supervisors, and suppliers
- Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced operational environment
- Competent with stock systems, spreadsheets, and fleet management tools
- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and small plant

Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience in stores, warehousing, fleet management, or a similar operational support role
- Knowledge of construction or maintenance environments (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
- Forklift licence (desirable)
