We're working with a PE-backed consumer business based in SW London, looking to recruit a hands-on Financial Controller on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Group Controller with dotted lines into the Head of Commercial Finance, the remit of the role will be to take ownership of the daily financial operations and contributing to high-level decision-making across the business.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts and consolidated group financial statements
- Monthly management accounts preparation and board-level reporting
- Oversight of all financial processes, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
- Budget control through stakeholder engagement and cost-saving initiatives
- Simplifying financial processes for non-finance teams
- Supporting leadership with tailored financial summaries
- Supervising a small team (3/4)
- Managing payroll, commissions, bonuses, and pension contributions
- Coordinating year-end procedures and annual audit preparation
- Handling annual insurance renewals and compliance
They're ideally looking for a qualified chartered accountant (ACA / CA / ICAS) from a top practice initially, with a track record of reporting and financial control within industry looking for the next step in their career. Experience of working within retail or consumer will be advantageous but not essential. You will have a relationship-led approach, and be committed to improving / streamlining processes.
