We're working with a consumer business based in the Chessington area looking to recruit a part-time bookkeeper on a 12 month contract basis. Reporting into the Finance Director, this will be a rounded role taking ownership of many aspects of month-end and transactional finance, and key areas of focus will include:
- Credit control - contacting clients via phone, email and letter to chase overdue payments using a relationship-led approach
- Monitoring and managing the sales ledger to ensure customer accounts are accurate and up to date
- Preparing and issuing monthly statements
- Resolving invoice queries and disputes promptly and professionally
- Accounts Payable - ensuring supplier invoices are accurately logged, raising any issues with department managers for correct coding and approvals
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Preparing payments for approval
- Month-end journal postings including accruals & prepayments
- Updating the fixed asset register
