We're working with a retail business based in the Chessington area looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 12 month contract basis. Reporting into the Finance Director, this will be a rounded role taking ownership of many aspects of month-end and transactional finance, and key areas of focus will include:

  • Credit control - contacting clients via phone, email and letter to chase overdue payments using a relationship-led approach
  • Monitoring and managing the sales ledger to ensure customer accounts are accurate and up to date
  • Preparing and issuing monthly statements
  • Resolving invoice queries and disputes promptly and professionally
  • Accounts Payable - ensuring supplier invoices are accurately logged, raising any issues with department managers for correct coding and approvals
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Preparing payments for approval
  • Month-end journal postings including accruals & prepayments
  • Updating the fixed asset register

They're looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant, available on short notice, with strong interpersonal skills, team work-ethic, and a decent level of Excel.
