PSA Engineer – ADMS

We are seeking a Power Systems Automation (PSA) Engineer with hands‑on experience in Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) to support real‑time control environments for leading UK utilities. The role combines electrical engineering principles with strong systems integration and software skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and support ADMS applications in live operational environments.
- Perform system integration, testing, and deployment of new releases, patches, and updates.
- Analyze system logs, debug errors, and apply fixes to production systems.
- Develop and maintain scripts and SQL queries for automation and performance monitoring.
- Manage configuration and version control using GitHub or ClearCase.
- Install and maintain OS and third‑party components such as Oracle Database and NetApp software.
- Collaborate with operations and IT teams to ensure stability, performance, and compliance.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering (or related field).
- Solid understanding of distribution networks and real‑time control systems.
- Strong proficiency with Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience in C, C++, Java, and Oracle Database administration.
- Skilled in SQL scripting, shell scripting, and log analysis.
- Proven experience working with real‑time or mission‑critical systems.
- Hands‑on background in system patching, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with GE PowerOn Reliance, Schneider EcoStruxure, or Siemens Spectrum ADMS.
- Familiarity with SCADA, DMS, OMS, and related communication protocols (DNP3, IEC 60870, IEC 61850).
- Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) or cloud‑based environments.
