One of our clients, a leading emergency response technology firm, is seeking an AWS Cloud Security Engineer to join its growing cybersecurity team.
This is a hands‑on security role responsible for protecting cloud environments that support critical emergency services and public safety operations.
You'll need to be an expert in AWS security environments, manage security incidents, and IAM while acting as the primary on‑site security presence in Manchester.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive security incidents across cloud infrastructure, networks, endpoints, and applications
- Review and improve AWS security configurations and cloud controls
- Work closely with a global cybersecurity team to strengthen security operations
- Support SIEM, endpoint protection, and threat detection activities
- Assist with local IT support and technical issues within the Manchester office
- Participate in an on‑call rota for critical security incidents
- Contribute to security hardening, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Skills
- SIEM & Security Monitoring Tools
- Security Operations (Sec Ops)
- Windows Administration & Networking
- Cyber Essentials and/or ISO 27001 knowledge
Experience
- 5+ years' experience within Cyber Security, Security Operations, or Cloud Security
- Experience responding to and investigating security incidents
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud environments and security best practices
- Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint security, and threat detection tools
- Experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments is advantageous
- Ability to obtain and maintain SC and NPPV3 security clearance
