We're hiring a Solutions Architect for a healthcare organisation to support the design and delivery of secure, scalable systems that improve patient care and meet NHS compliance standards. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone with experience in technical architecture and a growing interest in solution-level ownership. This would be a great step up for a Technical Architect with a background in infrastructure or low-level design who's ready to move into solution ownership.

What makes this role interesting?

  • You'll be joining at a time where the focus is shifting toward AI, automation, and smarter tooling - but always within the constraints of NHS governance.
  • There's a genuine appetite for people who bring fresh thinking, whether that's in the form of chatbots, AI diagnostic support tools, or smart automation that reduces admin pressure on clinical teams.
  • One previous candidate caught their attention because he was building an AI box to diagnose diseases - if you've worked on side projects or experiments like that, it'll be noticed here.
  • You'll spend 2-3 days per week in their Northampton office (with a bit more in-office time during the first couple of months while you get up to speed).
  • This is not a huge enterprise where ideas vanish in the process. It's a small team with big plans, so your work will actually shape delivery.

What you'll do:

  • Designing end-to-end solutions across core healthcare platforms
  • Automating processes and experimenting with AI-based tooling - within compliant frameworks
  • Working closely with clinical users to understand workflows and turn ideas into secure, useful solutions
  • Optimising Microsoft 365 tools to support smoother digital operations
  • Producing architecture documents, integration patterns, and governance materials

What they're looking for:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Solutions or Technical Architecture
  • Comfortable designing solutions, not just maintaining infrastructure
  • Strong communicator who can explain tech in plain English to stakeholders
  • Experience with AI/automation projects, even personal ones, is highly valued
  • Any exposure to NHS systems, standards, or compliance is a bonus
