Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced eTrading Developer to join a specialised team responsible for building and enhancing electronic trading systems for Rates Derivatives and Cash desks. This role involves working closely with front office traders, quants, and sales teams to deliver high-performance, low-latency solutions that support real-time trading and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain real-time trading systems for front office operations.
  • Implement low-latency solutions for market data processing and order management.
  • Develop APIs and integration layers with upstream/downstream systems, including Bloomberg, Tradeweb, and internal platforms.
  • Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance for high-volume trading activities.
  • Collaborate directly with traders and quants to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in production support rotation and resolve critical trading system issues.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to architectural decisions.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–12 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in front-office electronic trading systems.
  • Strong expertise in Java (C++ or C# experience is a plus).
  • Background in capital markets, ideally with fixed income products (Rates & Credit).
  • Experience with low-latency systems, distributed architectures, and messaging middleware (Kafka, Solace, TIBCO).
  • Understanding of FIX protocol and order management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Python for automation and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with electronic trading platforms and algorithmic trading systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
