Nicol of Skene, a leading Civil Engineering, Horizontal Directional Drilling and Multi-Utility Contractor, is seeking an experienced Tractor Driver to join and strengthen our team. This role plays a key part in supporting day‑to‑day site operations, including groundworks, material movement and general site support. You will be responsible for operating tractors and attachments safely, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tractors with a range of attachments including dump trailers, bowsers, rollers and spreaders
  • Transport materials such as aggregates, soil and equipment across site safely and efficiently
  • Support earthworks, drainage, roadworks and general groundworks operations
  • Carry out daily pre‑use inspections and basic maintenance of plant and attachments
  • Report defects, faults or safety concerns to the Site Supervisor
  • Work in line with method statements, risk assessments and lifting plans where required
  • Assist site teams with general duties when needed, including labouring or banksman duties if trained
  • Maintain safe working practices around other plant, operatives and the public
  • Keep work areas clean, safe and well organised
  • Follow all company policies, site rules and statutory health and safety requirements
