Nicholsons’ Landscape Architecture Team is growing! We are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate/Assistant Landscape Consultant to join our Northamptonshire office and support the vital work of landscape planning. Our portfolio spans large private residential, leisure, hospitality and commercial projects, offering varied and interesting work that positively contributes to environmental outcomes.

Role & Responsibilities

Your main focus as a Graduate/Assistant Landscape Consultant is to support the Landscape Architecture department by researching and interrogating information from a variety of sources, including planning policy, published landscape assessments, various reports, maps and drawings to inform the creation of LVIAs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A passion for the protection and enhancement of our planet
  • A degree in Geography or a similar environmental/landscape architecture field
  • Previous knowledge and experience of producing LVIAs
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently and effectively as a team player
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills, plus excellent verbal and written communication
  • A friendly and professional manner
  • A full UK driving licence due to our remote location as well as a willingness to travel to site to undertake occasional surveys

Desirable Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience using InDesign and other creative software such as Photoshop and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of Green Belt and planning policy.
  • Some experience in design work, as there is potential to undertake more of this work as you develop.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
