An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Trainee Fencer to join our Nicholsons Forestry team. This is a fantastic chance for someone eager to begin their journey in the Forestry industry. You’ll be working hands-on in beautiful outdoor environments, learning practical skills from an experienced team and building a strong foundation for a long-term career. If you’re motivated, enthusiastic and ready to start your path in the industry, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role, you will:
- Support our busy and friendly forestry department in all aspects of commercial fencing and forest management.
- Develop new skills and learn what it takes to keep our forests productive and healthy through the implementation of fencing.
- Work in wide ranging woodlands, commercial forest stands, large country estates, farmland and occasional domestic settings.
- Engage in active, hands-on work.
Key responsibilities:
- To learn and develop your skills, knowledge and understanding from more experienced members of the team.
- Undertake fencing operations safely and efficiently.
Successful candidates will:
- Have a desire to learn about fencing and forestry operations.
- Have an ability to work in a team effectively.
- Have a willingness to work outdoors in all weathers.
- Be flexible and adaptable.
- Be health & safety aware and ensure that all standards are upheld.
Desirable:
- Experience and/or interest in a relevant industry.
- Experience using power tools.
A full, clean UK driving licence will be required due to the remote nature of the role. This is a full-time position: Monday to Friday from 7.30am until 4.30pm.
