A rare opportunity has arisen to join the business as Production Manager, leading production in a specific technically complex business unit, and with responsibility for all aspects of operations, plant metrics, safety, quality, cost control, people engagement and development, and continuous improvement. Dependent on experience, the incumbent could also deputise for the Site Manager and be given specific development to ensure they can successfully manage the additional brief as and when required.
Key skills
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager or Manufacturing Manager in a low volume, technically challenging, batch manufacturing environment
- Preferably experienced in a highly regulated manufacturing setting - such as aerospace, defence, medical devices, or pharmaceutical
- Formally qualified to degree level in a science, chemistry or engineering related discipline
- Ability to evidence quantifiable achievement in leadership, with a major focus on safety and world class manufacturing methods - Lean, Six Sigma and TPM
- Excellent people leadership skill set
- Good cross functional understanding of New Product Introduction, Quality, Engineering and Projects
- Real aspirations to assume further responsibility and progress to a Site Leadership role in future
- Ability to manage complex situations and apply a structured and logical problem solving approach
- Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
