Due to significant site growth driven by long term customer contracts, a rare opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Quality Engineer - forming part of the team that ensures technical compliance and drives continuous improvement activity, with involvement in quality problem solving, preparing quality documentation and internal/supplier auditing as required. This role will involve direct representation of the business to a diverse aerospace customer base, and the day-to-day management of non-conformances through the company QMS utilising a range of software.
Responsibilities
- Represent the business to a diverse aerospace customer base and manage communications accordingly.
- Drive continuous improvement activity and ensure technical compliance through the QMS.
- Involve in quality problem solving, preparing quality documentation and internal/supplier auditing as required.
- Manage non-conformances through the company QMS using relevant software tools.
Key skills
- Ideally educated to HNC/HND/Degree level in engineering or science based discipline.
- Experienced in a manufacturing setting as a quality engineer or process engineer.
- Demonstrable experience with quality and data analysis tools such as 8D, FMEA, APQP, Pareto, SPC, CpK, Six Sigma, root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP desirable.
- Some knowledge of SAP ERP highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and statistical skill set.
- Able to effectively and professionally engage with internal stakeholders and external customers, and suppliers as required.
- Great prioritisation skills, methodical, logical and well organised, able to adapt to changing circumstances, and really thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys working with others in a supportive and close-knit team.
